Cologne Cardiovascular Research Center (CCRC)
The Cologne Cardiovascular Research Centre (CCRC) bundles pre-clinical, clinical and translational research in cardiovascular medicine at the Cologne Campus. It is well integrated into local interdisciplinary research structures such as the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC) as well as regional research consortia including the DFG-funded Transregio TRR259 ("aortic disease") and the Center for Cardiovascular Medicine at the Universities of Aachen, Bonn, Cologne and Düsseldorf (CCMABCD), the latter providing a roof structure for common research activities at four large University hospitals in close vicinity.
The pillars of pre-clinical and clinical research, and the respective principal investigators and working groups of the CCRC, and the overarching translational research activities are structured in distinct research foci.
